Exhibition History

Lester Johnson, a native Detroiter, is a professor of drawing and painting at the College for Creative Studies. Recent West Michigan exhibitions include a one person exhibition "Passione" at the Saginaw Art Museum, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts in 1986 and "Maiden Voyage" at Western Michigan University in 1989. Art Center of Battle Creek exhibitions include "Michigan Black Artists" in 1987, "The 12th Michigan Artists Competition" in 1991 and Michigan Art Collection, 1998.

Recent exhibitions in the Flint area include: Crossroads 1988 at the Buckham Fine Arts Project (with Al Loving and Ed Clark), : Encore '89", (invitational) and "Myths, Magic and Spirits" sponsored by the Greater Flint Arts Council, 1990, and "Amandla," Kettering University Humanities Art Center, 1991, and "Most Like Lee" (A Tribute for Lee Morgan), Mott Community College Fine Arts Gallery, 1993 and "In Search of the Promise", GFAC Art Gallery, 1998.
